2nd European STAMP Workshop 2014
(ESW 2014)
22nd – 23rd September 2014
University of Stuttgart, Germany
http://www.iste.uni-stuttgart.de/se/esw2014.html
==============================
Call for Papers
STAMP (Systems-Theoretic Accident Model and Processes) is an accident
causality model based on system theory
and system thinking. STPA (Systems-Theoretic Process Analysis) is a
powerful new hazard analysis technique
based on STAMP while CAST (Causal Analysis based on STAMP) is the
equivalent for accident/incident analysis.
After the success of the first European STAMP workshop at TU
Braunschweig in 2013 and the response for the first
workshop was overwhelming, there will be a second workshop to continue
the discussion about STAMP.
The second STAMP workshop is going to be held in conjunction with
INFORMATIK 2014 (http://www.informatik2014.de/),
the 44th annual meeting of the German Informatics Society at the
University of Stuttgart.

The workshop includes but is not limited to these topics:
- Experiences using STPA and CAST
- Safety-guided design using STPA
- Accident analyses
- Certification and regulatory issues
- Evaluations and comparisons with traditional techniques
- Risk management and identifying leading indicators
- Applications to security
- Safety management systems
- Implications of STAMP and STPA for integrated modular avionics
interoperability, cyber warfare
- Tools, processes, and other support for analysis and design using STPA
and CAST
- Management and adoption experiences or challenges

IMPORTANT DATES
======================================================================
Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: April 22, 2014
Acceptance notification: May 20, 2014

PAPERS
=======================================================================
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit an extended abstract
(up to 3 pages)
to the workshop on original research: either practical experiences with
using STAMP/CAST/STPA,
STAMP tools or ideas and positions that have yet to be fully developed.
Also work-in-progress and position papers are welcome if they have
potential for interesting discussions.
All submitted papers must conform to the LNI format
(http://www.gi.de/service/publikationen/lni/).
Accepted papers will be published in an openly available LNI volume.
