There are two new papers up on the STAMP website that may interest you.
They can be found at: http://sunnyday.mit.edu/STAMP-publications.html

*A Systems Approach to Risk Management Through Leading Safety Indicators* by
Nancy Leveson (under Journal Papers).
This paper shows how to create leading indicators using STAMP. It also
implies a new approach to the definition of risk using "vulnerability"
rather than likelihood.

*A Comparison of STPA and the ARP 4761 Safety Assessment Process* by Nancy
Leveson, Chris Wilkinson (Honeywell), Cody Fleming, John Thomas, and Ian
Tracy (under Technical Reports).
This is a complete rewrite of an earlier version of this technical report
although the conclusions are the same. In this version, the differences
between the two approaches are described in more detail and any comparisons
between the results of the two approaches on the Wheel Brake System are
omitted beyond describing the philosophical differences and differences in
the *types* of results that are obtained.

Also, I want to remind everyone that the next STAMP/STPA Conference will be
held March 23-26. This year there will be a full day of tutorials on March
23 followed by three days of presentations, panels, discussions, etc. The
call for presentations is on the website: http://psas.scripts.mit.edu/home/
Proposals for presentations, etc. are due in early December but can be sent
at any time.
