The Institute for Technical Informatics (http://iti.tugraz.at) at Graz University of
Technology is currently seeking excellent university assistants to strengthen its
scientific team dedicated to research and teaching in various areas of Embedded Automotive
Systems. The position is offered in association with the newly founded professorship
"Embedded Automotive Systems" and focusses mainly on research in Operating Systems and
Single/Multi-Core Architectures, wireless Car2X Communication, and dependable Vehicular
Networks for Smart/Connected/Autonomous Cars. The candidates are expected to pursue a
PhD in the mentioned areas.

Completed university studies (Diploma or Master) in either Technical Informatics,
Telematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable
fields are required.

Candidates should have an outstanding expertise and interest in at least one of the
following areas: Design, implementation, and experimental evaluation of embedded systems,
ideally in the automotive area; real-time operating systems and computer architecture
(single/multi-core); wireless mobile or sensor networks, cyber physical systems and
reliable communication systems. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
Successful candidates are expected to contribute to supervising courses and bachelor
or master students at the Institute for Technical Informatics. Experience from academia or
industry, e.g., the participation in research projects, international cooperation, or
scientific publishing, would be an advantage.

Graz University of Technology aims to increase the share of women, and explicitly

The salary will be according to level B1 of the collective agreement for university
employees (Kollektivvertrag) with a minimum of 2662.90 EUR (14 times per year), and can
possibly be further negotiated depending on prior work experience.

Located in the southeast of the country, it has as a warm climate which is influenced by
the Mediterranean. Graz has a long tradition as a student city and offers a dynamic
atmosphere with many events and cultural delights. Apart, the region is leading in

the automotive area) with strong relationships with Graz University of Technology.
