[SystemSafety] FW: IS/IEC 61508 1998, 2000, 2005 availability

After an off-line query, I have now established that the standards are
the last before current IEC editions, but still current in India.

Soft copies are available from the official Bureau of Indian Standards
for ~USD900, with a 90% discount offered for domestic purchases. The IEC
Webstore has a price of ~USD2000 for the later edition.

They can be used to provide a reference for discussion, but are not
really helpful for new commercial applications that require the 2010
second edition.

The Government of India has made available to the public through the
Public Resource Org. nearly 20k standards including content-identical
versions of ISO/IEC 61508 parts 0 through 7.

This should satisfy the recent concerns of those looking for a cost
effective (read free) source for the full text.

filetype:pdf" in Google for direct links to each volume.

A catalogue to the material is available at the appended link.
