Much like those hobbyist sailors who build their own boat, take it out into
the deep blue and suddenly find out that it's not quite as good as they
thought.

And it's a hell of a long way for the coast guard helicopter to fly for
pickup...

In Britain some of us would argue it is determined by the Code of Conduct
you signed up to when
joining your professional association, usually BCS or IET.

I guess the point of saying that LightSail is essentially a "hobby" is a
subtext that says "so we
didn't do that stuff" .... along with the further subtext that says "...but
we sure wish now we had!"
