[SystemSafety] fyi: IEEE article about ethics in driverless cars

Maybe we should visit Isaac Asimov’s Robot novels, where the ethics of autonomous machines are discussed at length, including the interaction with humans.
It seems the utilitarian ethics of the three laws of Robotics was a selling argument for the fictitious company selling them.
There is even one short story where Asimov looks at intelligent car behavior (“Sally”).
And Asimov later added a 4th law.

Greetings,
IEEE Spectrum's badly-named "Cars That Think" blog has an article that may interest some of you: "People Want Driverless Cars with Utilitarian Ethics, Unless They're a Passenger."
This link will take you to it - http://bit.ly/killmenot
