[SystemSafety] ***SPAM*** Re: Off Topic

Morning Andrew,

"the UK is capable of standing proud"

With respect, I simply don't understand this argument.

We are an independent country. We have control of our own destiny.

A few years ago, we chose to join a club. We have a say in how the club
operates (and - when we are at our best - we make a positive contribution to
the running of this club, in my view). We derive significant economic
benefits through membership of this club.

If we decide to leave the EU, I will see it as a very sad day for citizens
of the UK (and certainly nothing to be proud of).

All the best,

Michael.

Morning all

I urge all eligible voters to use their vote - whichever way that may be.

I am in the Leave camp - IMHO the EU in its current form is not fit for
purpose, and attempts to change from within have proven fruitless. as the
fifth biggest economy, a UN Security Council member and a key player in
NATO, the UK is capable of standing proud.

Better outside the tent and pissing in, than inside the tent and being
pissed on :)

Regards all

Andrew

This is not off-topic, but important for the future of the things that
matter in many areas

Deceleration of interest - I have used my postal vote to remain

Listening to the leave people leaves me, alongside Peter seriously worried
(we who have not lived abroad for a long time don't get emotional enough to
say "scared shitless")

What makes me upset (= seriously angry) is that we have not taken advantage
of programs that give Euro finding ( = our money back again) in technology
within Horizon 2020 and other programmes and not have been efficient (= have
screwed up badly) in administering other EU programs like farm support.

I am older than Peter but we are both part of the first generation that has
grown up without some major European powers being at war with each other -
for hundreds of years

The EU is imperfect but all the Eurocrats I have spoken to are serious
people who are trying to achieve good things in Europe.

Even so- better inside the tent and pissing out than outside the tent and
pissing in

Er, let's forget the fine words and pretend decorum - I am scared shitless.
I'm nearly 65 and this
is the biggest crisis I have ever experienced in two decades in the UK, two
in the US and two in
Germany. (If I were 10 years older, as some of my distinguished colleagues
and friends are, it would
have been WWII.)

I can't vote. If you can, please, please do, and take all your friends with
you to the polling station.
