Some people delight in producing doubtful mappings between standards and guidelines for software assurance saying, usually misleadingly and sometimes completely wrongly, that the 'levels' are broadly equivalent. I find it useful to challenge these efforts by providing examples of the types of system that may be produced requiring assurance at a particular level...
So - does anyone have a real example of a system that used the Low Demand Mode SIL4 of IEC 61508?
John
P.S. Thank you to those who responded to my historical question recently; I am hopeful that I will soon have a copy of the suggested paper.
