Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act of 2017 has been
enacted:

Interesting times ahead for the various agencies with an interest
in safety related issues, as they figure out what evidence is
available to support their policies.

The Open, Public, Electronic, and Necessary Government Data Act
also looks interesting.  Perhaps we might finally get NASA to release
some of the interesting software data it has on record.
